Kickoff meeting of the campaign to stop raptor poisoning by rodenticides

Join other interested Belmontians for a kickoff meeting on Zoom at 7 PM on Thursday, April 13th.

Meet wildlife biologist, BCF Newsletter author Laura Kiesel, who will talk about the rodenticide problem in our region and present a primer on launching a Save Belmont Wildlife group. Laura is a founder of SaveArlingtonWildlife.org. Let’s learn what other communities are doing and join them in protecting raptors, children and pets.

Discuss the proven tactics Belmont can use to reduce or eliminate rodenticide use, like a Poison Free Pledge, working with the Board of Health on Integrated Pet Management plans, engaging the housing authority, raising homeowner awareness, affecting retail and construction site practices, and a rat poison by-law. Learn about legislation currently before the House (HD 577) and Senate (SD1144).
