Raptors, coyotes, and other predators balance Massachusetts’ ecosystems. But shocking numbers of these iconic creatures have been sickened and killed after eating poisoned rodents. Mass Audubon is launching and supporting Rescue Raptor Coalition campaigns in communities across Massachusetts to reduce the use of these poisons, and wildlife advocates in Belmont (Save Belmont Wildlife) have already started a local campaign team.
Interested in protecting raptors in the Metro West area? Join us at Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary & Education Center for the Rescue Raptors Coalition gathering with Save Belmont Wildlife. We’ll learn how rodent poisons harm raptors, plan to reduce their use in Belmont, and go on an Owl Prowl through the sanctuary to search for these elusive creatures. Wildlife advocates from surrounding towns are welcome!
