Energy Stretch Code

As of November 2010, 64 communities have chosen to adopt a building code that is more stringent in terms of energy efficiency than the state building code. This building code is known as the "Energy Stretch Code" and is currently in place for nearly all of our neighboring communities. The town Energy Committee is looking to pass this by law at the upcoming town meeting on April 25, 2011. Sustainable Belmont recommended that the town adopt this code in their Climate Action Plan and is happy to endorse the passage of this by law.
